Supporting those who Work with Children and Families with Higher Education
Teaching new generations of early childhood care providers best practices for educating and caring for children in their care is a career pathway that is grounded in tradition and research. Researchers conduct studies to understand which practices and methods have the best outcomes for children. They also seek to understand how demographic factors and public policy may impact outcomes for children and even providers. They may be responsible for developing the study and data gathering tools or analyzing data that is gathered. The results of studies then influence the development of field best practices and the techniques and core knowledge taught to child care providers.
Community College and University Faculty teach core concepts, teaching techniques, and best practices to child care providers. Providers then use that knowledge to ensure they provide high quality, developmentally appropriate care to children.
